Twighlight 5K

I did it. I ran my first race since I was 15 and training for it was a really great experience. I've reached a point where I enjoy running enough that I miss it when I don't get around to it, and that hasn't happened since I was a teenager. One thing that keeps me going while running is thinking about my mother and how I shouldn't take this healthy body for granted. I should get out and be active every day just because I can.

My favorite part of the race was hearing R yell, "Hey! Look! There's my mom!" A big thanks to my buddy Sharon for running the race with me and to Hamish's parents for sticking around with the boys to support me.  And because of this race, and the help of some of you, we helped raise $425 for cancer research!  My goal was to meet my $100 pledge and you guys helped me blow that goal out of the water!  A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and pitched in.  Seriously, THANK YOU!

Now, for some pictures:

Now, off to find the next 5k to run...
